I know, that’s a little harsh, but it’s also very true and I so wish someone had shaken me and said it so bluntly when I really needed it. I think deep down, you already know both of those things are true.

One of the hallmarks of the diet industry is the restriction, binge, regret cycle. You know it well. You haven’t had pizza in two months, and you tell yourself you’ll only have one slice. Then you have that first bite and it’s like some monster inside of you has taken over your body. Before you know it, you’ve eaten the whole pizza. Cue regret and guilt. You restart the cycle promising the be better the next time, but there’s always another slice of pizza, or bowl of ice cream, or box of cookies, or whatever it is you love. If you had a system sustainable habits in place, you wouldn’t be trapped in this cycle.
I know it seems like there are only two options:

- #2 Eat whatever I want + exercise sometimes = unhappy with body

Some of my clients love numbers and quantitative data, while others would rather remove their own skin than weigh themselves and take progress pictures regularly.
